The Era Of Honor Begins - 02/23

Intro and General Thoughts

For as long as I can remember, I've always been fond of Ring of Honor Wrestling.
I found out about the company somewhere around late 2016/early 2017 when I was younger and my tastes in wrestling were still developing, and was so enamored by the level of talent that they had during that period that I would try my best to keep up with the company through watching their weekly television show back when it was on some Sinclair-syndicated channel I can barely remember the name of… not to mention also watching whatever clips/free matches on YouTube when I could. In a weird way, watching ROH was technically my first real exposure to Japanese promotions like New Japan and Pro-Wrestling NOAH. As someone who is a big fan of watching... well, wrestling, it was a promotion that appealed to me heavily for a long time.

For this project I wanted to do a deep dive and watch/write about every ROH show from its beginning in February 2002 to… honestly, I'm not really sure where exactly I wanna end it. Currently I'm thinking that my goal is to go until the beginning of the HDNet era of ROH and then see if I wanna continue on from there. I mostly just want to explore the archives of this company as much as I can and see how much of it is ACTUALLY GENUINELY GREAT… or how much of my feelings towards it is guided by nostalgia from when I was younger.
I will admit that I'm not really sure of an actual schedule for posts on this, especially considering real life obligations and everything else I am working on, but I want this to be a fairly active project. Of course we’ll be going from show-to-show, and each time I complete a year in this I'll make a big year-end post talking about what I did and didn’t like.

Hopefully you people reading this will enjoy my thoughts on these shows… or don’t, you have free will and whatnot.
